At Loaves and Fishes, we are 100% volunteer and have no paid staff. All funds donated go directly to purchase food to distribute to those who are food insecure in our area.
Because of our wonderful donors, we have zero overhead! Our building space is donated, our phone and phone service is donated, and our utility costs are also donated.
We are funded by financial and food donations from individuals, organizations, businesses, churches and school projects in our service area. Food drives also help fill our shelves.

participates in the TEFAP program or the Emergency Food Assistance Program.
TEPAF is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of people living on a low income by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost. We distribute food to those that qualify.
Each household receives 3 days of food for each member of the household per month.
Our Nutrition for Seniors Program – Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) formally NAPS, provides a solution to hunger for seniors in need.
Wholesome, shelf-stable foods like fruits, vegetables, cereal, meat, and dairy items are made available by USDA. Volunteers pack the monthly menu of items into boxes which are distributed. This program provides more than 350,000 meals to seniors as part of the Nutrition for Seniors Program.
Income-eligible Minnesota seniors (age 60 or over) who are qualified for our program are able to pick up their food in person or assign a proxy to act on their behalf.
